welcome

I've recently given this blog site to a few new people, so I just want to welcome you all. :D

I'm sitting in Computer Drawing, writing a 12 x 18 movie poster to a cd to have it printed for Digital Illustration. Our teacher is showing off his wife's work on flickr. Neat.

Illustrator & FreeHand are fun. Yay. Photoshop & InDesign still need some work. I have midterms next week. Another yikes.

Island Girl & I are snacking ...illegally... in the computer lab. Hey, we sit in the corner and he turned off the lights... .grins.

Not much else to say. Today was a busy day, but I got all my work done. SO yay for that. :)

Well, class is about to start up again. Have a great night!

lame

Yes, birthdays without family, birthday cake or "Happy Birthday" are lame. S gave me that word. She rocks. :)

BUT tonight in Digital Illustration, Alex gave me 2 birthday carrots that I had to wish on and blow out AND she sang to me. YAY! :D

BUT tomorrow morning is InDesign and I have sketches due. Yikes! Guess I should go home? I have to do my homework for tomorrow night. That includes mounting my final logo for my make-believe company. Yes, another one. I'm tired of creating imaginary companies and developing identities for them.

And it looks like everyone is leaving so I need to leave so I don't walk home alone.

Love you!

frustration

InDesign is not my friend. I actually cried in class this morning because I was so frustrated. And I still don't feel like I learned what I was supposed to learn.

And yesterday, on my way to school, all of the sudden I was like "Why am I going to art school?"

I can't come up with a good answer.

I am such a mess right now............................................

correction

Those hottie audio boys aren't actually audio boys at all. In reality, they are video production. DUH! ;)

that homework thing again

Got the work done for class at noon and managed to get my sketch done for class tonight. Like barely in time. Yikes.

But the work for tomorrow is not done. Well, the first part is done. The 2nd part is started. The collecting part is not even started. And I'm in class until 9:30 and that class is at 7:30 tomorrow morning. Did I say Yikes?!

Ok, class is starting...

oh, i forgot

I saw my reason for going to work TWICE today - morning and afternoon.

homework is not getting done

Well, that's not totally true because I did download a couple of pictures for a project that I have to do a sketch for still, but it's not due until tomorrow night. I'm also googling stuff for my design layout magazine that's due tomorrow. Well, the layout is... And I need to work on my poems for Wednesday morning.

I REALLY need to stop putting this stuff off until the night before it's due. I'm struggling a lot this quarter with time management. No, that's not it. I just haven't been doing it because I don't feel like it. Which is odd because I like what I'm learning this quarter, I'm not motivated to do it. ACK!!!

I'm doing a Seattle tourism project for Design Layout, a movie poster for Digital Illustration, 3 poems for Digital Typography, and I have to work on my logo and do a tutorial on making a pear in Illustrator for Computer Drawing. I need to schedule homework time and do it!

But that wasn't the original plan for this blog.

I feel like I am so not close to the Lord right now and it's scary. I get to meeting when I can, but I know I don't read my Bible enough. And prayer happens when it happens. So yeah, I'm kind of a mess. :( Anyways, I was walking to work this morning, iPod in, and this song comes on and I didn't immediately recognize it. But as I listened, I realized there were tears running down my face. I may not feel that close, but I am still in His hand and He cares for me just the same. (And I'm tearing up right now...) So I just wanted to share this with you.

Before The Throne of God Above
written by: Charitie L. Bancroft, 1863.

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea.
A great high Priest whose Name is Love
Who ever lives and pleads for me.
My name is graven on His hands,
My name is written on His heart.
I know that while in Heaven He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within,
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end of all my sin.
Because the sinless Savior died
My sinful soul is counted free.
For God the just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!

random boys

All the cute boys at school are in either animation or audio. That's cool, but everybody knows that those are the 2 programs with the wierdest kids in them.

However strange they are, there are some amazing guys in audio and I just met a really cute animator today.

Hmmm...

weekend

So, Friday night, Josh picked me up and we drove to Richmond, BC. There was a bonfire on the beach and the police came and kicked us out. Interesting...

Saturday morning prayer meeting I looked out in the foyer and saw a bunch of boys walk in. Which was fine, but one of them made my heart skip a beat. I was totally shocked to see him. And he proceeded to stare at me for the rest of the weekend. Although we talked a bit and it was like we were old friends again. Oh right, transcript of a text convo:
R: Ok, by the way, we talked. :)
B: Hmmm...drama?! :)
R: No drama, just... good, like we were old friends and had been talking all weekend. Then I caught him staring in the cafeteria after the sing...
B: Sounds nice!
R: It was. :)
Then we talked more on Sunday and things were good.

But Josh made us leave right after lunch. Sadness. :(

Then today, my reason for going to work said he missed me too when I said I missed him because I hadn't seen him in so long.

Life is good!

Except I haven't gotten on track for this quarter yet. :(

I guess I could start that by giving you my schedule?

Tuesday afternoon: Design Layout
Tuesday night: Digital Illustration
Wednesday morning: Digital Typography
Wednesday night: Computer Drawing

Wierd, eh?!

Still trying to catch up on stuff from the end of last quarter when I just up and flew to NY for my whole break.

I listen to the most random stuff. These are the songs I have purchased on iTunes:
Bad Day Daniel Powter
Fidelity Regina Spektor
Rock Me Amadaus Falco 3
Where Is My Mind? The Pixies
Tom Sawyer Rush

I love it! :)

And I love you!

So when I saw K on Saturday night, she was telling me that her friend D lives in Seattle and that she would email me his email address. In Cincinnati on Sunday afternoon, I saw a guy that looked familiar, but figured I didn't know him cuz of where I was. So we boarded the plane and I was on before this guy and his wife. As they walked past me, I was like "I know you." And they said "We know you." And I said "You're E & S!" And they said, "And we're pretty sure you are R." So then we had to discuss why we were going to Seattle. They had thought I had moved somewhere and were unaware that it was Seattle. Then I asked them why there were headed to Seattle and they said they were going to visit D. And I was like, "The D that K wants me to meet?" And they said "yes, most likely." and that he was going to pick them up at the airport. So I got to meet D in the SeaTac airport and he was like "It's not out of my way to take you home." So of course I said "ok." Then last night, the 4 of us met at the Pike Pub & Brewery for dinner. That was fun. :) E said he'd give D my digits and D said he'd call. I do so like making new friends in Seattle! :)

continued from thursday

So Mom & I went to visit Aunt Mary in the nursing home. She looks so old and isn't doing all that well. It's sad. :( Then we went home and ate before going to Bible study.

Friday was spent moving photos from the PC to my laptop and generally clearing files off the PC and hoping it would run faster. I'm no techie and am not exactly sure what would make it rum better, but it seemed to be a bit faster when I left. In the afternoon, Mom & I went to visit Clarence in yet another nursing home. He's doing really well, but is considerably older than the last time I saw him. At least he is doing okay mentally and able to get around on his own.

Because it was only 5, Mom suggested a walk at the mall. It was interesting to be there again. (After all those winters spent working at the Sens store, I tended to not go very often.) Not much has changed, except McDonald's closed, but I think that might have happened before I left? Too bad Phil wasn't working at The Gap. That would have made the trip "worthwhile." ;) Then we went to Wegman's and got the Friday Fish Fry. It's Lent and the Binghamton area is very Catholic which leads to amazing fish frys. (Yes, I know that's not the plural, but they aren't fish fries, so...) Took the fish home & ate. Am was there and after dinner, she looked at my pictures from Seattle & Zuma Beach (Malibu). And we made plans for Saturday.

Saturday. Mom & Dad & I walked to the Parkway Diner where we met Am & the girls. From there, we went to a Bazaar & a closing sale in Apalachin then out to see Steikas place in Newark Valley. Neat place, but a little small for such a large family. We stopped at Corbin's in West Endicott for lunch before heading back to the house. Am put the girls down for naps, then she & I & Mom went out to see the new shops on the Parkway. Back home, I worked on the computer some more before getting ready to go to the hockey game.

Guess what?! The Sens lost again. They only have 19 wins on the season. There are some issues there... Anyways, on my way to the game, I stopped at Karyn's to drop off a baby gift. It was great to see her! Then to the game to see everybody. 2nd Intermission, I talked to 2 people. No, I didn't get to see everyone I wanted to see, but they were good conversations anyways. :)

Sunday, I got up early so I could pack before Sunday School. I ended up being late. :( It was fellowship, so I showed my pictures at lunch time and then we left 'cuz I had to fly out of Syracuse at 5:30. Got there in plenty of time and the flight ended up leaving early. Layover in Cincinnati (previous post) and got into Seattle at 10:30. Managed to get a ride home from the airport (next post) and was home by 11:30. Nice!

It was so amazing to walk into my place. I love living in Seattle! :)

dead air

Sitting in a corner in the Cincinnati airport waiting to board my flight to Seattle. (Dare I say home?!) I plugged in my laptop, but there's not verizon signal here. :( I need to move so I can call Becky - she's in Detroit.

I need to finish my week at home, but not right now. Perhaps tomorrow?

Katie Lou, I <3 U :)
